Wednesday, the Louisville Police Department and PGA golfer Scottie Scheffler agreed that neither will pursue charges in his arrest at Vahalla two weeks ago.
There have been several new pieces of evidence that were presented that showed that the arresting officer, Bryan Gillis, was overly aggressive with Scheffler and may have lied about Scheffler injuring him.
He also didn’t have his body cam to verify his statements, which he was later punished for by the police department.
For the first time, Gillis is making a statement about the police department’s decision not to pursue charges, and while he praised Scheffler he slammed Scheffler’s lawyer.
“Mr. Scheffler and I both agree that there will be no ill will over this going forward. Instead of giving a negative public reaction, he chose to speak with dignity, humility, and respect. My family and I appreciate that.”
“It was unfortunate and disturbing to hear Steve Romines’ (Scheffler’s lawyer} commentary today claiming that a ‘false arrest’ was made and for him to challenge my honor and integrity.”‘

What may be unfortunate is that rather than being appreciative of the fact that Scheffler didn’t pursue charges against him, Gillis continues to talk as if he was in the right this whole time when evidence proves to the contrary he wasn’t.
