Golf is often referred to as a gentleman’s game. The object is not just to win, the old adage goes, but to play like a gentleman and win.
A pair of Australian golfers have obviously never heard that phrase. A viral video making the rounds shows the golfers at the Cranbourne Golf Club championship tournament in Melbourne screaming, yelling, cursing, and doing everything but throwing punches in an ugly confrontation.
“Come on c—, I’ll f—ing smash you. You’re a f—ing idiot,” one man said.
“Go away you d—head,” the other screamed back.
This goes on for some two minutes in the video. It’s amazing the shouting and screaming match never came to blows, but it came close.
“Threaten me with violence? Take the first shot and I will have you sued for assault!” one of the golfers screamed at the other.
Even after one party walked on to the next hole, the two golfers continued screaming at each other across the course.
After the shouting finished, one of the angry golfers told the others in his group he was “shaking like a leaf” and planned to file an official complaint with the club.
