There has been a lot of back and forth between PGA Tour golfers and golfers who joined LIV Golf. Many of the harsh comments have been about golfers not being honest about why they decided to take the offer, which they presume is money. Some of the LIV Golf players have said that it was more about free time and new opportunities.
One golfer who is tired of hearing alternative explanations is Billy Horschel, who did not hold back his feelings when asked how he felt about the situation this week.
“I am one of 200-plus members of the PGA Tour,” the seven-time PGA Tour winner said at a Scottish Open press conference. “I am the PGA Tour. … So when you’re taking shots at the PGA Tour and Jay Monahan, you’re not just taking shots at them, you’re taking shots at us.
🗣️ "There's a lot of guys that are hypocrites, that aren't telling the truth, that are lying about some things that I can't stand to just sit here and be diplomatic about it"

🗣️ "I'm tired of these comments. Go play your LIV Tour, and forget about the PGA Tour, you didn't want to support the PGA Tour."

Curtis Strange shared Horschel’s sentiment last week as he spoke about why several players left the tour, saying that while he understands why they left, he still does not agree with them joining the LIV.
The LIV has been under fire since the beginning as it’s backed by the Saudi Arabian government, which has been accused of terrorism and other acts against human rights.
