The PGA Championship got underway today, and Brooks Koepka, fresh off a U.S. Open championship, started the tournament with a bang. On the 16th hole, his tee shot beaned a course marshal in the head, staining the man’s white hat with blood.

Koepka recently admitted he found golf “boring” when he first started playing, but an incident like this is sure to liven things up.
The marshal appeared to be not seriously injured. Regardless, Koepka made a thoughtful gesture by signing his glove for the guy.

According to Golf Channel, Koepka also got the marshal’s name and number before continuing on. So perhaps he’ll receive some more goodies soon.
