The Department of Justice is currently probing the financial links between Donald Trump and Saudi Arabian government-backed LIV Golf.

Whether anything comes of the probe remains to be seen, however, it’s clear it’s not stopping Trump’s further involvement in the league.

Greg Norman confirmed to the Irish press that LIV Golf is looking at Ireland for a potential host venue within the “next 2-5 years.”

The likely spot would be at Trump’s property, Doonbeg Links in County Claire—a course “originally designed by Norman,” according to Balls Ireland.

Trump’s son, Eric, recently stated the two entities have held “indirect” talks.

“They know it is an option and we would love to have them over here,” said Trump. “I think this course is incredibly well suited for them if they ever chose to come over.

“We have got a great relationship with them [LIV Golf]. They’re in three locations of ours this year, two last year, many more next year. So if that opportunity is right… they move their locations around the world, they want to be in different countries, they want to get maximum exposure, and I think that’s again a really good thing for the game of golf.”

Only time will tell if the arrangement can be made. A lot probably depends on the Justice Department’s final verdict.
