Donald Trump is ruffling a lot of feathers as of late. On Wednesday, the sitting President of the United States announced every tariff he’d be placing on foreign countries, and the results have been disastrous.

On Thursday, the stock market had its worst day in years, and many are wondering if things are only going to get worse from here. One person on Twitter noted that the dollar managed to weaken even though, logically, the tariffs should have the opposite effect.

“That the dollar *weakened* in response to tariffs is terrifying. By making imports more expensive, tariffs should *strengthen* the dollar. The market sees a Trump catastrophe (economic regime change) beyond tariffs – expecting investment to *tank* enough to crush the dollar.”

However, it doesn’t seem as if President Trump is all too concerned about the market, as he’s going to enjoy some golf with the Saudi-backed LIV golf tour in Florida.

“After launching economic chaos and uncertainty with his tariffs, Trump now heads to FL for the rest of the week to host a Saudi-owned LIV golf tournament,” reported Meidas Touch’s Rob Filipkowski.

In a video that’s making the rounds on social media, Trump addresses the state of the economy before jetting to Florida, and he is either detached from reality or completely unconcerned with what his tariffs will mean for working class families.

“I think it’s going very well. It’s an operation, like when a patient gets operated on… The markets are going to boom!” Trump said in the video.

People reacted to Trump’s words on social media.

“This is the same scorched-earth approach they used on government agencies—defund, destabilize, destroy. Now, that same method is being unleashed on the economy: cut off the real money flows, and watch everything crumble,” one person wrote on Twitter.

“The only one who will get booted out will end up being Trump by the time the whole world turns on him,” someone else wrote.

“Only Trump could confuse a sinking ship with a surgical operation. Markets booming? More like a comedy show with a clown in charge. The only thing rising is the laughter at his expense. Wake up, America!” one person added.

It’ll be interesting to see how far Trump is willing to let this go.
