United States President Donald Trump had an extremely busy week and weekend. In the middle of last week, Trump announced multiple tariffs on a number of foreign countries.
Unfortunately, the tariffs have had disastrous effects on United States citizens. Immediately after the tariffs were announced, the United States stock market began to plummet.
Shockingly, Trump does not appear too concerned with the current state of the stock market. Almost immediately after announcing his tariffs, the President headed down to Florida for a golf event.
“After launching economic chaos and uncertainty with his tariffs, Trump now heads to FL for the rest of the week to host a Saudi-owned LIV golf tournament,” reported Meidas Touch’s Rob Filipkowski.
Trump also got some golfing of his own done while he was in Florida. A video of Trump working on his golf swing on the weekend went viral on social media and drew a number of reactions online.
“The only thing worse than his presidency is his golf game,” one person wrote on Twitter.
“Why does he look so pathetic after all these years of golfing?” someone else wanted to know.
However, as bad as Trump’s practice swing may have appeared, it would seem that it was good enough to get the job done.
“Very good because I won,” Trump said when asked how the tournament went. “It’s good to win. You heard I won, right?” Trump said about the tournament, according to reporter Emily Goodin.
People reacted to Trump’s improbable victory on social media.
“I went out on a limb yesterday & predicted Trump would win big today. If only we were sure he would win with #TrumpTariffs,” one person wrote on Twitter.
“Americans losing trillions in retirement savings… Americans losing millions flying Trump to Florida… Americans losing thousands of jobs… Yet, none of that is top of mind for the President who brags about winning a meaningless golf “tournament” at his club,” someone else added.
“When he has to defend this crash he’s going to weave mid-sentence and defend this golf tournament instead,” another person added.
It’ll be interesting to see if Trump will shift his focus onto getting the market back to peak performance now that his golf tournament is over.
