As The Memorial golf tournament approaches this weekend, Jack Nicklaus reflects on some of the memories he has had over the years, one in particular involving Tiger Woods.

Nicklaus was talking about his marriage and how it improved his game; he thought the same would happen for Tiger Woods as well.

The golf great discusses an anecdote about Tiger Woods.

“I don’t mean this in a nasty way, but I remember when Tiger was single and Tiger, then he got married and they said, ‘Well how do you think that will affect Tiger’s career,” he said. “And I said, ‘Well, I think it will only be a plus.'”I says he’s going to get tired of coming home and telling Butch Harmon,’ Hey, Butch, I won another one.’

“He had somebody to share it with. You want to share your career and enjoy the fruits of your work,” he added.

Unfortunately, as most know, Woods did get married and eventually divorced his wife because of his numerous affairs and it has affected his game.

Woods personal life has been more of a headline than his professional life lately and now that he appears to be at the end of his career, it has become more evident that he is not the player that he once was. Woods will miss The Memorial and he readies to play at the US Open.
