Over the past few years, several major sporting events have been delayed and disrupted by Just Stop Oil protesters. But one PGA Tour superstar has a pretty brutal message for any protester thinking of trying to disrupt the Open Championship this weekend.
“I do have a reputation so I hope they don’t catch me on the bad hole,” Rahm said according to i news.
“I know they’re going for an impact. I saw a couple of them in Wimbledon and obviously this looks like it could be a perfect spot. But we have nothing to do with it.”
In all seriousness, though, Rahm said that he would likely leave the matter to security and wouldn’t get involved in any attempts to stop any protest.
“You don’t want to disrupt play, which they’re trying. So if it happens, where I’m at, I’m obviously going to try to clean up as quickly as possible so we can resume playing. That’s all I can say,” Rahm said.
“Being a golf course in a bigger area that might have more room to run around and do what they need to do, but what I can assure you is you don’t want to get hit by a golf ball even if it’s in purpose or accident, you don’t want to be caught in the middle of that.”
We’ll have to see whether or not the protesters have anything planned for the British Open.
