Max Homa PGA Tour player Viktor Hovland tees off at the tenth hole during the first round of the FedEx St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tenn., on Thursday, August 10, 2023.

Max Homa made good on a heartwarming, gracious gesture on Wednesday that left many smiling.

Like many other star golfers this week, Homa plays in the FedEx St. Jude Championship. And at the event, he met someone who had made a lovely gesture to him two years ago. Calvin, a St. Jude Children’s Hospital patient, made shoes for Homa in 2021. The two met in person this week at the event in Memphis for the first time.

Then, the championship posted a lovely, heartwarming video of the two interacting. After greeting him, Calvin exclaimed with excitement, saying, “This is my boy!” to Homa. The golf star brought him around for a few practice holes. Then Calvin got to putt a shot on the green with Homa helping him out. He missed his first opportunity but then made good on his second.

The touching video went viral this week and garnered a lot of attention. In the best way, of course. Many were heart warmed to see the gracious gesture play out like it did.
