Michael Block Club pro Michael Block won the hearts of fans at the PGA and also had a hole-in-one on the 15th-hole.

Even though he didn’t win the PGA Championship last week, Michael Block became a fan favorite when he made an ace last week and qualified for next year’s tournament.

His story was bigger than winner Brooks Koepka but he may have let superstardom go to his head with his comments comparing himself to Rory Mcllroy.

Block shocked a few people by comparing his game to Mcllroy and saying if he had a swing like his, he’d be atop the golf world too.

“He’s a lot longer than I am,” Block said about playing with McIlroy on the “Ripper Magoo Podcast” with Bob Menery this week. “What I would shoot from where Rory hits would be stupid. I think I’d be one of the best players in the world.”

“Hands down. If I had that stupid length, all day. My iron game, wedge game, around the greens, and my putting is world-class,” he said.

Block probably didn’t mean any harm by his comments but still, it came off as a bit arrogant and shady. Mcllroy has 23 PGA wins, four of which are majors.

Block is just a golf pro who probably just played the best round of his golfing life last week at a major. It was a huge thrill for him but he shouldn’t get too carried away.

Mcllroy didn’t just get great overnight and maybe Block needs to be reminded of that.
