Any amateur golfer always dreams of making their first-ever hole-in-one. But for PGA Tour golfer Joel Dahmen, that dream became a reality after making his first ace on tour to date in his opening round at the Charles Schwab Challenge on Thursday afternoon.

Dahmen stepped to the Par 3 13th hole at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas, in need of a kick start to his round, sitting at even par. And he got just that on his tee shot, which flew to the back of the green and spun all the way back into the hole.

Golf fans likely know Dahmen best for his role on Netflix’s Full Swing series, where he is typically seen as one of the more fun golfers on tour. However, it wasn’t exactly the type of celebration that you would expect from him, instead simply high-fiving his caddie and his fellow players in his grouping before moving on to the 14th hole.

This kind of moment is exactly what a player like Dahmen, who comes into the event with three straight missed cuts, needs to give him so momentum to build on throughout the tournament and potentially contend in the event.

Interestingly, Dahmen does have three Top-10 finishes this season on tour. So perhaps if he can find some more magic throughout the tournament, he can find a way to stick around and contend on Sunday.
