As everybody knows, Tiger Woods and Rory Mcllroy have been the loudest voices against LIV Golf. Both apparently had no idea a merger was coming and were shocked by the actions of the PGA Tour.

Both golfers turned down major cash to join the league and stayed loyal to the PGA, Tiger Woods in particular. Woods reportedly turned down almost a billion dollars to stay on the PGA Tour.

But according to reports, PGA commissioner Jay Monahan told both golfers they will be rewarded for their loyalty.

“I’m going to spend every single waking hour as we move forward here, we finalize this agreement and we move into the future, that the players that have created the PGA Tour, have created this pro-competitive, legacy-driven juggernaut, that have articulated and supported the direction that we’re going on…always needs to be rewarded,” Monahan said.

Although he said that, Monahan still doesn’t know how much each PGA player will be rewarded.

“How that manifests itself is something I’m going to spend a lot of time working on,” Monahan said.

“And I think when we’re having this conversation down the road, that’s something I look forward to being more specific about,” he concluded.

Woods has yet to comment on the merger and Mcllroy made it perfectly clear he still hates the idea.
