Tiger Woods

Police have released dashcam video showing Tiger Woods’ DUI arrest from early Monday morning. During Memorial Day weekend, local cops in Jupiter, Florida, found Woods asleep at the wheel.

Although the cops said a breathalyzer test found no alcohol in Woods’ system, the video corroborates the rest of their report that the golfer “had slow, sluggish and very slurred speech” and was “unable to walk alone.” The footage shows Woods confused about where he is and struggling to follow directions.

Woods made a statement on Monday that he had not been drinking and his condition resulted from an “unexpected reaction” to prescription drugs.

Based on what we know about the situation so far, Tiger’s explanation seems reasonable. Yale professor of medicine David Fiellin also told Yahoo Sports that mixing certain prescription medications could have such an affect as seen in the video:

“It’s certainly possible to have a mixture of medications result in decreased level of arousal and sleepiness,” says David Fiellin, a professor of medicine at Yale. “Medications that are commonly prescribed for pain, sleep and other types of disorders can have those types of side effects.”

It’s been a rough time for Woods, who is also sidelined indefinitely with an injury. Now he has his bleary-eyed mugshot and this unflattering dashcam footage all over the Internet.

A few hours after being arrested on Monday, Woods was released without bail and is due back in court on July 5.

  1. Feel sobriety tests are so dumb. They are demeaning and do not prove anything. You can pass with flying colors and the cop will say you didn’t. They ask you to do ridiculous stuff.
