Steve Elkington is best-known for being a longtime golfer on the PGA Tour and winning the 1995 PGA Championship. But these days, the 54-year-old Australian is mainly finding himself in the news for making controversial comments on Twitter.

ESPN’s Bob Harig explains more:

In recent years, Elkington has had his share of controversial moments on Twitter, such as insensitive remarks made after a fatal helicopter crash in Scotland and racially insensitive comments made about people from Pakistan while playing at the Senior British Open. He also ridiculed former Missouri football player Michael Sam when he announced he is gay prior to the 2014 NFL draft.

Elkington was at it again with his Twitter takes on Friday night (although thankfully not on a topic as sensitive as those mentioned in the above excerpt), when he said that Rory McIlroy is “so bored playing golf” without Tiger Woods around, after McIlroy missed the cut U.S. Open cut for the second consecutive year.

Elkington added that without Tiger, the “threshold is prolly 4 majors with 100 mill in the bank.”

Well, McIlroy was made aware of this tweet, and dunked all over Elkington with an amazing response:

That’s how it’s done.

Elkington responded, and didn’t make things any better for himself.
