Rory McIlroy makes stunning implication

The last few months have been rough for Rory McIlroy. He wasn’t allowed back on the PGA Board, he is going through a very public divorce, and now, apparently, he showed up at a PGA event drunk.
It just so happened to be his caddie Harry Diamond’s birthday week during the Canadian Open, and he may have celebrated a bit too much.
“A bit of a slow start,” McIlroy said after his round. “Harry’s birthday dinner last night so had a couple of glasses of wine. I was probably feeling a little groggy when I woke up.”
As he told reporters, this was just another of the celebratory events McIlroy has attended these past few weeks.
“I went to one of my best friends’ weddings in Italy for four days, which was a lot of fun. It was good to see a lot of people from home I haven’t seen in a long time,” McIlroy said. Yeah, it was actually a really good trip; I needed it.”
“Then I had a great weekend at home,” McIlroy continued. I spent time with my family and with [daughter] Poppy, and, yeah, it was awesome. So, I needed that reset. I’m playing four weeks in a row here. I’m ready to go, but yeah, it’s been a busy stretch, and I’m sort of easing my way back into it.”
It didn’t seem to affect his play; he shot an opening round of 66.
