The Louisville Police Department announced Wednesday morning that they will not be pursuing charges against golfer Scottie Scheffler.
As many now may know, Scheffler was involved in an incident involving him and a Louisville Police officer while at the PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Course. The officer claimed Schaeffler assaulted him, but recent information has come out to contradict the police officer’s story, which prompted the police to drop the charges.

The two sides agreed not to pursue the case. A newly released video by the Louisville Police Department revealed new information.
It appeared that the two had a conversation and then Scheffler was handcuffed and arrested. Scheffler would say later the officer didn’t identify himself.
“If I knew he was a police officer, I would have been much less afraid,” Scheffler said. “But panic kind of set in. As you can see, I’m still shaking because I was afraid. I didn’t know who he was. He didn’t say, ‘Police, get out of the car.’ He just hit me with his flashlight and yelled, ‘Get out of the car.’”
It was also reported that the officer did not have his body cam on when the incident occurred and was reprimanded for not having it on. This wasn’t the first time this officer was reported for his aggressiveness.
