We’re a little more than three weeks away from the unofficial start of spring. The Masters Tournament is that sign of warmer weather, and the best golfers in the world will descend on Augusta, Georgia before we know it.

As part of The Masters festivities is the Champions Dinner, held on the Tuesday before the tournament. Held in honor of the defending champion, that person sets the menu for all the former winners and Augusta National board members who are lucky enough to be invited.

Scottie Scheffler is the man honored this year, and the 2022 Masters champ has a menu that might not fit the formal vibe of the dinner, but has some great food.

For the appetizer, Scheffler went with cheeseburger sliders (served Scottie-style) and firecracker shrimp. Then after the tortilla soup comes the entrée. A choice of Texas ribeye steak or blackened redfish. For dessert is a warm chocolate chip skillet cookie with milk and cookies ice cream.

The Champions Dinner menu usually says something about the golfer and where they come from. For Scheffler, that means bringing the heat with a spicy menu. All in all, this is a great menu and the golf world seemed to agree.

Scheffler will defend his green jacket starting on April 6.
