This year’s Masters already had some awkward moments even before the tournament begin. The Masters made the decision to let former PGA Tour players who now play on the LIV Tour come back and play in Augusta.

The decision did not sit well with a lot of current players. Apparently, there were some tense moments during the championship dinner held before the tournament. And it had nothing to do with golf.

When the chicken tortilla soup was served, it literally sat mouths ablaze.

Here are some of the reviews:

Sandy Lyle: “I had to sort of swab the top of my head because it was perspiring.”

Nick Faldo: “One spoonful was too much for me. It was way too hot, too spicy.”

Fuzzy Zoeller: “I about gagged — waaaa, hoohoo, baby!”

Danny Willett: “I ate it, but I did look over at Scottie and ask if he was trying to kill us.”

Scottie, of course, is reigning Masters champion Scott Scheffler, the top-ranked golfer in the world and the host of the meal Tuesday night. The dinner honors the winner of last year’s tournament.

Per tradition, the winner gets to pick what he wants on this year’s championship menu. This year’s menu included cheeseburger sliders, firecracker shrimp, chocolate chip skillet cookies, and the spicy chicken tortilla soup, which was kicked up a little.

Thank goodness that was the only thing that was spicy at the dinner.
