Tiger Woods and pop superstar Justin Timberlake are going into business together. According to Golf Digest, Woods and Timberlake have been given the go-ahead to open a sports bar called T-Squared Social in the town of St. Andrews, Scotland. That will be close to The Club of St. Andrews which has served as the home of the Open Championship over the years.
The pair first opened their bar with the same name in Manhattan last year.
Despite finally getting the town’s approval, there was some resistance by town residents. Last October a petition against the new sports bar got more than 10,000 signatures.
It seems that every project that Tiger Woods is associated with is a money maker. It was recently revealed that his venture with Rory McIlroy, TGL Golf, is estimated to be worth about half a billion dollars. And that’s before they even tee off next year.
TGL is a tech-infused, team-based golf league that will be broadcast live on ESPN in early 2025. Six four-man teams packed with many of the PGA Tour’s top stars will compete in an indoor arena that boasts a giant simulator and a high-tech green with dynamic topography.
Meanwhile, Woods and Timberlake are now also moving forward with this bar. We’ll see how that works out for them.
