Tiger Woods’ very strange adventures in the Genesis Invitational continued in the third round Saturday with a bizarre shot that struck a fan.
Woods‘ drive on the 13th hole at Riviera Country Club went right off the fairway into spectators.
When Woods got to the spot where the ball landed, he discovered it had gone into a fan’s jacket. As the fan explained to Woods and a PGA official, when he moved his jacket, the ball fell out on the ground. After the fan explained the situation, he told Woods, “If I could, I would have pushed it out.”
Woods was allowed to drop the ball and play from there. He saved par on the par-4 hole.

Woods, making his first tournament appearance since the British Open last year, has had some strange moments. On Thursday, he made headlines after jokingly handing playing partner Justin Thomas a tampon after outdriving him on a hole. Woods apologized for the action Friday.
In the second round, Woods somehow putted a ball into a bunker. He also thrilled the crowd by almost holing his tee shot for a hole-in-one on the par-3 14th hole.

Through all his adventures, the 47-year-old Tiger Woods has been playing with no obvious pain or discomfort. That’s a good sign for the legendary golfer, who has been plagued by injuries in recent years.
