Thursday starts the 2023 PGA Championship but one face will be missing and that’s Tiger Woods. Woods is still suffering from injuries he had in a car wreck a few years ago and is recovering from ankle surgery, so he won’t be playing this year but that doesn’t mean he can’t offer some advice to a fellow friend and golfer.

According to reports, Woods offered Rory Mcllroy some sage advice about this golf game after he missed the cut at the Masters and a disappointing finish at Quail Hollow.

Woods text Mcllroy that he saw something was a bit off with his game lately. Mcllroy then went to Woods’ house to talk some more and get some tips.

“Yeah, just club getting a little bit out of position at the top and then sort of the sequence of events that follow from there,” Mcllroy said. “Club face was getting a bit too open on the way back, really struggling to square it on the way down, and then sort of re-closure was getting a little too fast, throwing my hands on it, and sorta started to get the miss going both ways, especially at Quail Hollow. ”

He also added: “So trying to sort of tighten the start lines up a little bit, keep a little bit more strength in the club face, feel a little bit more squareness throughout the swing. That’s sort of what I’ve been working on over the last week or so.”

We’ll see how Tiger’s advice pays off.
