Charlie Woods still has plenty of work left if he wants to come anywhere close to the kind of legacy that his father, Tiger Woods, has left in the sport of golf. But on Wednesday, Charlie made his first big statement in the golf world by coming away with his first tournament victory in the American Junior Golf Association.
Woods, a high school junior, played in the Team TaylorMade Invitational at Streamsong Resort in Florida that concluded on Wednesday, besting some fierce competition including AJGA No. 1 ranked golfer Miles Russell along with Willie Gordon, Luke Colton and Phillip Dunham, who each finished three strokes behind Woods respectively.

His final round on Wednesday was perhaps his most impressive of the tournament, recording eight birdies to finish with a 6-under-par 66 to help secure his victory.

Woods came into the event as the No. 606 ranked player in the AJGA rankings, with his best finish had been a T25 in March. But after this most recent performance, that ranking is obviously set to improve.
Carrying the Woods name obviously comes with a lot of pressure to succeed. But it also comes with his fair share of built-in supporters, who were quite eager to congratulate him on his best performance to date as a golfer on social media.

At just 16 years of age, Woods clearly has a long way to go to build his game before he starts to truly embark on his professional golfing career. But it sure seems like he is rounding into form at a great time, and could be a force to be reckoned with in the years to come.
