We have seen the sons of NBA stars like LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony receive a ton of praise. However, the best of the bunch may end up being Cameron Boozer, the son of former NBA star Carlos Boozer. He received a massive honor in a cool way from Miami Heat forward Kevin Love.

Boozer was named the Gatorade National Boys Basketball Player of the Year on Wednesday in just his sophomore year at Christopher Columbus High School in South Florida.

His coaches told him that he was getting sized for his state championship ring. In reality, he was given the Player of the Year award by Kevin Love, a former winner of the award.

“Cam, I couldn’t find a sample ring,” said Love as he walked in with the Player of the Year trophy. ” But I could find a new piece of hardware.”

Boozer then embraced both Love and his father before posing for pictures while holding the award. Winning this award as a sophomore is something that is rather unprecedented. Only he and former top recruit and current Eastern Michigan standout Emoni Bates have ever done so.

He is certainly expected to do some great things and may end up being even better than his father. He is currently the top-ranked player in the class of 2025 by ESPN.

Only time will tell how successful the career of Cameron Boozer is, but this is certainly an impressive honor to be given at such a young age.
