Meet LaMelo Ball from Chino Hills, California.

The high school sophomore is already considered one of the top young guards in the country and could be making his way to UCLA in the next couple of years to follow in the footsteps of his older brothers Lonzo Ball (currently with the Bruins) and LiAngelo Ball (currently committed to the Bruins). The youngest of the Ball brothers is already making highlights this season with his deep range, which was put on display in a game in the 2016 Rancho Mirage Holiday Invitational.

Walking the ball up court, Ball points to the middle of the floor, seemingly to call his shot, unloads a half-court shot and drains it with ease. Ball then turns the other way and casually walks his way back to the other end of the court as if this was no big deal. It will most certainly people rub some people the wrong way, but the kid’s got some serious game and he knows it.

Here is another angle of the same shot…

Ball is no stranger to showing off his range. Earlier this month Ball took the opening tip and drained a similar shot just seconds into a game.

The kid is draining shots that would make a player on fire in NBA Jam envious, and he’s just a sophomore in high school. We’ll see if he can keep that going the next two and a half years before making his way to UCLA (where he has already verbally committed). Ball has some other skills, like passing, so he’s not just a one-trick pony. But I’m wiling to guess we will see more of these long-range shots in the next few years.
