A player at Ardsley (NY) High School just hit one of the most incredible buzzer-beaters you will ever, ever see.

With 2.4 seconds remaining in the Section 1 Class A championship, Ardsley trailed Tappan Zee by two points, with Tappan Zee in possession under its own basket. Apparently looking to advance the ball as far as he could, a Tappan Zee player chucked the inbound pass well past the mid-court line, right into the arms of Ardsley senior Julian McGarvey. McGarvey collected the ball, took a dribble (we promise) and fired a shot back the other way.

Swish.

Just like that, Ardsley won 52-51 in a truly unbelievable finish.

Remember, this was not some random game. It was the state championship. That kid just won the state title on a three-quarters-court buzzer-beater off a steal.

Now, we can hear you watching that video and yelling that McGarvey traveled, but another view of the shot shows the he took a dribble, meaning that even if it was technically a walk, it wasn’t an egregious one.

Pretty freaking incredible.

McGarvey told local broadcaster Kevin Devaney Jr that the shot was “the greatest moment of my life,” and it is sure hard to blame him.
