A Texas high school softball player took the Internet by storm over the last day after an absolutely hilarious play at the plate.

Jada Walton fooled the Center High School catcher at the plate in a hysterical fashion. She raced around the bases and came in to score. The problem was, the catcher was in the way. So after deking, diving, and a good, old-fashioned stalemate, Walton had a trick up her sleeve.

Walton roped the catcher in by pointing elsewhere. The catcher took her eyes off the plate and the sneaky Walton, who dove and touched home plate to score the run.

Incredibly, the move worked and the video of the hilarious play at the plate went viral.

After reporter Ryan Silapan posted the video, he talked to Jada Walton and she offered a response and explanation to the crazy play.

” it was supposed to be one base,” Walton said. “But he (presumably their 3rd base coach) had kept telling me to keep going. And I did. And I was almost there but I didn’t have no idea where the ball was. And then when I was going, I had saw her pop out her glove, and I had kinda jumped over it. And then she was standing above the plate.”

Walton explained that she had “no idea what to do” at that point. “I was really just goofing around because I thought I was finna be out. And then I had like, pointed, and she looked and I saw that as an opportunity to score.”

She said she had no idea and that it “happened, it really just happened” while laughing. Walton said she was “trying to keep the ball in play” and to run into the tag.

Her reaction to being called safe? “I was like amazed,” Walton said. “I’d never seen that happen, you know? Like, trick somebody like that. And then, like, when I was in the dugout, I was screaming. I was so excited.”

She said she didn’t think the video of her play would take off like that at all. “That’s crazy,” she said to seeing how many views she had, which she claimed was 3 million!

Hats off to her for pulling an incredible and hilarious play off on the softball diamond like that.
