Recently, Washington Community High School in Illinois held a “Mom’s Night” for its football team, allowing players’ moms the opportunity to lay down some tackles on their sons. And it certainly appears that these mothers were not messing around.
The video, which features several of the moms in full football pads laying the smackdown on their kids, went viral on Twitter this week.

Some of the moms showcase some strong tackling techniques while others are simply just running into their progeny and hoping for the best.
It’s fair to say that the reaction to the tackling and the idea was…interesting. While some people loved it, others were a bit more cautious about the idea. Others still seemed to voice both sides of the issue at the same time.
This is awesome and seems like a terrible idea. https://t.co/rcJj2wVx9P

Still, there seemed to be a lot of overwhelming appreciation for the hard hits that these mothers dish out and the joy that all of their son’s teammates take in watching them get laid out by a parent.

The whole scenario left a lot of people wondering what would happen if their mom got the chance to tackle them, as well as what it must have been like for the mothers to finally be able to “safely” dish out some punishment.
All I see are some mothers who have been waiting for a chance to hit their kid legally. https://t.co/XiArcpLAE2
