If you thought Alabama had a little dynasty going, well, they do. And Bishop Gorman may be the Alabama of Nevada high school football.

For the eighth consecutive season, Bishop Gorman completed the season by celebrating a state championship. As they have been known to do, they left no doubt which team was the better of the two programs in the state title game. Bishop Gorman took a lead over Liberty just 59 seconds into the game and never looked back in an 84-8 victory. Poor Liberty.

Bishop Gorman, with Ohio State QB commit Tate Martell leading the offense, scored 56 points in the first half. Martell had five total touchdowns in the first half and was given a chance to rest for the second half, but that didn’t mean Bishop Gorman was done with the scoring. The defense even chipped in with a pair of defensive touchdowns.

There are no national high school football playoffs, but there are polls to crown national champions. It would stand to reason Bishop Gorman would have an excellent chance to be considered for the non-existent national title. They have been crowded national champions each of the past two seasons, and with this result, are likely to take home a third mythical national title.
