The 2024 MLB All-Star Game has a location.

MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred announced Thursday that the annual event will be held in Dallas, Texas at Globe Life Field. Manfred made the announcement to the media that the Texas Rangers and their stadium would host the event.

Evan Drellich tweeted, “The Texas Rangers will host the 2024 MLB All-Star game, Rob Manfred announces.”

This is the second time that the Rangers have hosted an All-Star Game. They last hosted in 1995 at their previous home, The Ballpark in Arlington. Texas previously was one of five teams to not host the game at their current residence. That group now just features the Atlanta Braves, New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies, and Tampa Bay Rays. Though, the Phillies host in 2026.

This also means that the All-Star Game will stay a Western Division city for four consecutive seasons. In 2021, the Colorado Rockies and Coors Field hosted. This past season, the Los Angeles Dodgers and Dodger Stadium hosted. Next year, the game will be held in Seattle, hosted by the Mariners at T-Mobile Park.

The MLB world reacted to the news of the revealed location. After Texas got the game, some were enthusiastic. Others weren’t so enthusiastic for justified reasons.
