Postgame interviews are often inherently silly, especially in baseball, when a player does something particularly heroic. Usually, that means they’re getting a pie in the face or doused with Gatorade or even potentially chocolate syrup. So when the Marlins broadcast crew wanted to chat with Martin Prado after he lead the Fish to a win over the Nats, things went a bit crazy.

Yes, that’s a sea monster and monkey interrupting the interview. I think I’d keep my cool better with two weirdos in masks behind me than getting a pie in the face, but I’m not a baseball player who has been conditioned to banal media interviews over many years of professional ball.
MLB.com’s Joe Frisaro speculates Chris Johnson and Miguel Rojas are in those costumes — you can see Rojas’ No. 19 — but they’re awfully well-disguised.
Here’s to you Martin Prado, for keeping your cool when everything around you isn’t.
