Whenever a Major League Baseball player hits an iconic home run milestone, it’s fairly common for the fan who caught the baseball in the stands to return the ball to the player, just as a fan recently did for New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge after he hit his 60th home run of the season. But when St. Louis Cardinals star Albert Pujols slugged the 700th home run of his career on Friday night, it looks like the fan who caught it is keeping it.
According to MLB analyst Ben Verlander of Fox Sports, the fan who caught the famous Pujols home run ball intends to keep it, even though he was approached with offers to trade for the ball.
Was just informed by a friend at Dodger Stadium that the guy that caught home run #700 from Albert Pujols is intending to keep it.
He was approached. Offers were presented. Then left the stadium with the ball.

“Was just informed by a friend at Dodger Stadium that the guy that caught home run #700 from Albert Pujols is intending to keep it,” Verlander said in a Tweet. “He was approached. Offers were presented. Then left the stadium with the ball. At least for now… He’s holding on to the prized possession.”
While it is a massive moment for Pujols and he would undoubtedly like the ball to commemorate the iconic milestone, it is also a priceless souvenir for the fan.
