The Houston Astros can win the World Series with a victory over the Washington Nationals in Tuesday night’s Game 6, and Alex Bregman gave Houston a 2-1 lead with a solo homer in the first inning.

The AL MVP candidate crushed a Stephen Strasburg fastball over the left field wall for his third homer of the World Series. He also took his bat with him all the way to first base, where he tried to hand it off to first base coach Don Kelly. But the handoff failed, and the bat ended up in the infield dirt.

Shades of Pedro Cerrano with the bat carry.

Update: Juan Soto matched Bregman.
