Every game that controversial umpire Ángel Hernández works seems to turn into an adventure.

So fans knew what to expect when Hernández took his position behind the plate Sunday to call balls and strikes as the New York Yankees hosted the Houston Astros.

Hernández did not disappoint — unless you’re one of the many baseball fans disappointed that he still has a job despite a questionable knowledge of the strike zone and a penchant for odd behavior.

Of course, Hernández missed plenty of calls behind the plate.

Many fans posted pitch charts to document the situation.

Then, in the ninth inning, Hernández cursed at the Yankees dugout, which caused Astros star Alex Bregman to call time during his at-bat.

Hernández, who missed most of the season while recovering from an undisclosed injury, returned in late July. The layoff apparently didn’t help improve his game.

Baseball fans have plenty to talk about when Hernández calls a game, and they filled Twitter with terrible pitch charts and memes after his adventures Sunday.
