If there is any team in sports that feels appropriate to have a uniform tribute to the dearly departed David Bowie, it’s the Bowie Baysox (Baltimore Orioles’ Double-A affiliate). Thankfully, they’re going to do just that tonight with a special night for the rock and pop star that passed away this past January from liver cancer.

As far as minor league baseball promotions go, this one is not only fitting but aptly amazing. Beyond the jerseys, the night will feature fireworks, plenty of Bowie music, and the ability to claim that no other team in sports can pull off the same tribute to Mr. Bowie than they can.

The Baysox also had Back Hair appreciation night earlier this season, which isn’t nearly as amazing.

The stadium looks empty for a reason: that’s a sadistic promotion. Anyway, long live David Bowie.
