While the 2022 season didn’t end with back-to-back World Series titles for the Atlanta Braves, the organization is coming off one of its best regular seasons in years, earning 101 wins en route to their fifth-consecutive NL East divisional crown. The man that is at the center of that success, manager Brian Snitker, continues to be compensated for success.

On Friday, the Braves announced that they had signed Snitker, 67, to a contract extension through the 2025 season.

Snitker completed his 46th season in the Braves organization in 2022, as well as his sixth full year as the club’s manager. During that time frame, Snitker has led the Braves to a 542-451 record and is a year removed from helping Atlanta win its fourth World Series title in franchise history.

After the Braves won the World Series in 2021, Snitker’s contract was extended through the 2024 season. Now that it’s extended throughout the 2025 season, David O’Brien who covers the Braves for The Athletic, points out that the new contract extension gives the “highly successful veteran manager” assurances beyond this current season.

It’s worth mentioning that Snitker will be 70 years old by the time the 2025 season is completed. So, there are no guarantees that he’ll manage beyond this most recent extension. In any event, the Braves want to have their current skipper around for at least three more seasons.

The major league baseball world wasn’t too surprised by the news, given the success that Snitker had during his time in Atlanta.
