Like most baseball players, managers, and fans, CC Sabathia doesn’t appear to be a fan of veteran MLB umpire Angel Hernandez.

Hernandez frequently makes himself the center of attention, and usually after making bad calls. In this particular case on Sunday night, it appears he actually got the call right, but Sabathia very much disagreed with that (and it had been building after some questionable calls earlier).

With the Yankees-Angels game scoreless in the bottom of the third, the Angels were threatening to score with runners at first and third and two outs. Sabathia threw a 1-2 fastball to Justin Upton that he thought caught the inside corner, but Hernandez said — he literally said out loud — it was inside. And by the ESPN K-Zone, it appears he was right. But again, the calls had been questionable earlier in the game, and Sabathia was understandably extra frustrated by not getting a call on a close pitch to get out of a jam.

After the pitch, you can see Sabathia talking to himself on the mound, angry about the call.

Sabathia went on to get out of the jam, but was still angry about Hernandez’s umpiring as the inning ended.

“Don’t talk to me. Call fucking strikes.”

Twitter was also not enjoying Hernandez.
