The adopted daughter of Major League Baseball Hall of Fame pitcher Dennis Eckersley was arrested in New Hampshire for abandoning her newborn baby boy in the cold.
According to reports, Alexandra Eckersley is facing serious charges that include endangering the welfare of a child, falsifying physical evidence, assault, and reckless conduct. Eckersley was arraigned Tuesday and is being held on $3,000 bail.
The younger Eckersley called the police to report that she had the baby but then lead them on a wild goose chase to find the infant who was born three months premature.

She apparently did that because she was embarrassed to let authorities know that she was homeless and living in an encampment in a wooded area with her boyfriend according to NBC Boston.
The baby boy was left out in the cold for 73 minutes but was finally found and rushed to the hospital where he needs intubation to assist with his breathing. He is, however, expected to live.
The police also reportedly believe that Eckersley is on drugs, which she denies but it’s quite obvious she is a troubled young woman who has a troubled life.
Dennis Eckersley has not released a statement yet about this daughter and the situation but you have to believe that he will be checking on his daughter and grandson soon.
Eckersley played for several teams, but was mainly known as the closer for the Oakland A’s back in the 1980s and was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame in 2004.
