Baltimore fans never forget.

Former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Bill Cowher was attending a Baltimore Orioles game on Friday in support of his wife, singer Queen V, who was signing the National Anthem.

Donning an Orioles hat, Cowher showed up on the video board and was promptly showered with boos by Baltimore fans. Cowher kept it together smiling and giving the crowd a thumbs up in support.

It’s tough but fair for Baltimore fans to boo Cowher. The Baltimore Ravens and Cowher’s former Steelers have been longtime AFC North rivals. The fans and players have an extra bit of hate for one another. Cowher coached Pittsburgh to many victories over the Ravens in his illustrious coaching career. Fans aren’t suddenly going to forget that.

The NFL Today analyst tried his best to cover up some of the potential grief by sporting an Orioles cap, but it didn’t stop the boos from reigning in. Good on Cowher for smiling and keeping his thumbs up and staying positive during the boos. I’m sure he’s experienced them many times before during his coaching days when playing against the Ravens.

Cowher took the boos in so he could support his wife at the game. That’s a good move on his part. I’m sure he earned some brownie points for enduring the wrath of the Baltimore faithful. Cowher might have been a good luck charm as the Orioles defeated the New York Yankees 6-5. Perhaps Cowher should attend every game? I’m sure Baltimore fans would love that.
