The Cleveland Indians made history Wednesday with their AL-record 21st-straight win, but then perhaps more embarrassing history came to light.
Earlier this year, the New York Mets accidentally tweeted a photo of a dildo in catcher Kevin Plawecki’s locker, which he took great pains to insist wasn’t his. And an image floating around Wednesday appears to show a dildo in an Indians player’s locker. After Reddit started discussing the image, Busted Coverage’s Joe Kinsey found the clip in question, a Fox Sports Ohio interview from Tuesday with outfielder Austin Jackson, and identified the neighboring locker as outfielder Tyler Naquin’s.

Maybe that’s something else, but it certainly looks phallic, and it wouldn’t be the first time players had wound up with a dildo in their locker, as a prank or otherwise. Naquin is also a possible prank target; he’s spent most of his career so far in the minors, and while he played 116 games with the Indians last year, he’s played just 13 in the majors and 80 in Triple-A this season, and was only called up on Sept. 5. So if they’re playing a joke on a newbie, he might be a logical target.
Perhaps this is part of the rising trend of dildos in sports. At any rate, it certainly provided something else to talk about beyond just the Indians’ winning streak.
