A bizarre play happened in the second inning of Friday night’s Dodgers-Nationals game, when Washington right fielder Jayson Werth appeared to be camped under an Andre Ethier flyball.

However, the ball landed on the warning track about 20 feet behind Werth, and bounced over the wall for a ground-rule double.

It’s easy to get a ball lost in the lights or the sky, but usually the player won’t act like they’re right under the ball and will throw their arms up in confusion or yell for help. Maybe Werth lost it at the last second, but this is still a strange play.

But, we’re certainly glad it happened because it made for a hilarious moment, and a very reusable gif:

It was that kind of night for the Nats, as the Dodgers came away with a 7-0 victory.
