San Francisco Giants outfielder Joc Pederson was hearing it from Milwaukee Brewers fans in the eighth inning on Monday night at American Family Field, and he responded by hitting a crucial, go-ahead home run.

The Giants trailed the Brewers 1-0 when Pederson came to the plate with a runner on second base and two outs in the top of the eighth inning.

The heckling got loud before a pitch was even thrown, and Pederson stepped out of the box. And on a 1-0 count, Pederson crushed a two-run homer to give the Giants a 2-1 lead. After the home run swing, he stared down the fans on the way to first base.

That’s one way to silence the haters.

After the Brewers tied the game 2-2 in the bottom of the eighth, San Francisco scored two runs in the top of the ninth and won the game 4-2.

During a postgame interview with NBC Sports Bay Area, Pederson said, “They were talking sh*t… got me a little fired up.”

Pederson won championships the past two seasons (with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2020 and the Atlanta Braves in 2021), and he’s already provided a huge impact for a Giants team that hopes to contend for a title in 2022. The veteran slugger is tied for the MLB lead in home runs with six, and he has a robust slash line of .362/.392/.787. Joc Jams are alive and well in the 2022 season.
