Los Angeles Angels outfielder Justin Upton is the latest baseball player to suffer an injury for a very weird reason.
According to Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register, Upton suffered a left index finger laceration after cutting his finger on a wine glass. The cut required four stitches and Upton was placed on the disabled list Tuesday.

While the Angels have been a huge disappointment, Upton has at least been good. The veteran slugger has a .267/.352/.474 slash line, 26 homers, and a 3.2 WAR according to FanGraphs.
He joins a long, long list of baseball players that have suffered weird injuries in the last few years. Some examples:
Brewers third baseman Mike Moustakas injured his back while lifting his child in July (while a member of the Royals).
Royals catcher Salvador Perez tore his MCL while carrying luggage in March.
Cubs closer Brandon Morrow injured his back while taking off his pants in June.
Nationals reliever Greg Holland missed time last year with the Rockies after cutting himself with a kitchen knife.
Blue Jays catcher Russell Martin missed time in 2016 after sauna wooziness caused him to slip in the shower.
Indians pitcher Trevor Bauer had a start pushed back during the 2016 ALCS after cutting his finger while repairing a drone.
Diamondbacks reliever Jake Diekman suffered an injury Upton can relate to, when he cut his finger on a broken souvenir mug in 2016 with the Rangers.
And Reds pitcher Brandon Finnegan tore his labrum last season while jumping from a boat.
These bizarre injuries seem to happen far more in baseball than any other sport.
