It appears kids across Chicago are using the Cubs World Series victory as a prime opportunity to be late for school.
A Chicago-based parent tweeted out a hilariously telling photo of Thursday’s tardy list at a local school, and multiple excuses listed include the Cubs. I’d wager the kid who’s “not feeling well” might have come down with the World Series fever.

It’s hard to blame kids for being late. The game ran forever and was delayed 17 minutes by rain. Seeing the Cubs win the World Series for the first time and subsequently not being able to sleep is a great reason to be late. Ideally, the school will let the excuses slide and won’t make an issue out of their lateness.
