The Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets were tied 4-4 with two outs in the top of the ninth inning on Friday night, and the Dodgers had Max Muncy at the plate with a runner on second base. That’s a crucial moment in the game, but Muncy had to request that the game be paused because for a bizarre reason- and a very understandable reason from his perspective.
Some moron in attendance at Citi Field flashed a green laser pointer right in Muncy’s face.

Dave Roberts on the laser situation with Max Muncy: "Some fan was shining a laser in his eye the first two pitches, so he addressed it and we cleaned it up. … Fans coming here trying to help the home club, but it's just a dirty play."

Muncy proceeded to strike out, but he surely lost his focus – perhaps with his vision even due to a laser pointed in his eyes — after that incident, so who knows how it would’ve gone otherwise.
Hopefully the Mets and/or Citi Field security are able to identify the fan.
Fortunately for Muncy and the Dodgers, Los Angeles was still able to come away victorious. Dodgers catcher Will Smith cranked a two-run homer in the top of the 10th inning.
