It appears outfielder Yoenis Cespedes is already putting that new contract with the New York Mets to good use.

The Mets slugger showed up to spring training Tuesday in this custom-made three-wheeled motorcycle. The vehicle is an Avorza Polaris Slingshot, which starts in the $20,000-$25,000 range, but the customized version with Cespedes’ No. 52 on the hood cost a bit more than that.

Cespedes has apparently owned this reverse trike since at least November, but this is the first time most of the baseball media has gotten a chance to see it up close and personal.
The Cuban star has built a reputation as having extravagant vehicle tastes, making spring training a showcase for his collection. Back when the outfielder was with the Detroit Tigers, he arrived in Lakeland with what can only be described as a fire-breathing Lamborghini.
With his new three-year, $75 million contract and his flashy rides, Cespedes certainly looks like a star. The Mets obviously hope he can approach the 35 home runs and .870 OPS he compiled last season, which included 17 homers and a .942 OPS after he was traded to New York. If Cespedes opts out after this season and gets another big free-agent payday, we may be treated to more wild rides in future springs.
