For the past several years, the Los Angeles Angels boasted two of the most talented players in the entire history Major League Baseball with former MVPs Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani leading the team. But unfortunately, the team itself hasn’t always been successful due to some failures and struggles from the rest of the Angels lineup. And that was once again the case this weekend.

Both Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani had absolutely incredible performances from the plate for the Angels during Saturday afternoon’s game against the Brewers. But unfortunately, those strong performances were not enough to lift the team to a win as the team still fell by a score of 7-5.

“Mike Trout is 3-5, has two home runs, and has driven in 5 runs. Shohei Ohtani is 3-5 with two stolen bases. The Angels fall to the Brewers 7-5,” the Twitter account CubsMakesMeSad pointed out on Twitter.

However, the stat is actually even worse than that. Trout was not 3-for-5, he was 3-for-4 since one of his outs was a sacrifice fly.

It was another wild occurrence that led to plenty of callbacks to the now-famous Tungsten Arm O’Doyle tweet.

Trout and Ohtani have been so good despite the Angels’ struggles that it’s now officially become a meme.
