In the sixth inning of the Angels-Mariners game on Tuesday night in Seattle, Luis Valbuena had what should’ve been a for-sure double, even for a guy that doesn’t have great speed.

But Seattle right fielder Mitch Haniger made a great play to get to the ball in the right field corner, and then fired a crazy Ichiro-esque throw to second base (with the throw never hitting the ground).

The throw was just off the bag to the shortstop side of second base, but Jean Segura took care of that. Segura caught the ball with his back to turned to second base, and reached back to make an absurd tag to get Valbuena. This is as good as defense gets and would impress tag wizard Javy Baez:

Haniger also hit two homers in the game to give him 15 on the season, and Segura added an RBI double. The Mariners are looking to improve their –shocking — AL West-best record to 43-24.
