Braves vs. Angels fight Braves vs. Angels fight

Tensions boiled over in a big way Tuesday night as the matchup between the Atlanta Braves and the Los Angeles Angels erupted into a full-on benches-clearing brawl, with multiple players getting ejected after punches were exchanged.

The chaos unfolded in the bottom of the fifth inning, when Angels outfielder Jorge Soler appeared to take issue with Reynaldo López throwing up and in on him. The frustration seemed to stem from Soler’s earlier at-bats, where he had already homered once and was later hit by a pitch.

After a brief stare-down, things quickly escalated. Soler charged the mound and started throwing punches at López, who retaliated with a few swings of his own, although neither player seemed to land a punch.

That initial clash between Soler and López sparked both benches to empty, as players from each side poured onto the field and turned the moment into a massive scrum.

Umpires were eventually able to restore order and de-escalate the situation, but not before ejecting both Soler and López for their roles in the incident.

Needless to say, the massive brawl quickly led to a lot of reactions on social media.

“Do baseball players ever connect with any punches?” one fan asked.

“Bring out the tables, ladders, and chairs. We got a brawl get these men in the ring and let them settle it like real men,” someone else said.

“Nobody ever lands a punch in these fights,” another person added.

“I hate that the teammates break it up it should be like hockey where the whole team picks a guy and fights,” someone else wrote.

“Lopez got ejected for getting punched. More players should go after good pitchers and hope they defend themselves – get them tossed,” another person added.

While nearly every player from both teams made their way onto the field during the melee, it’s worth noting that no additional punches were thrown beyond the exchange between Soler and López.
