A minor league game on Friday between the Buffalo Bison and Syracuse Mets — Triple-A affiliates of the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Mets, was called early after a scary injury to Buffalo catcher Payton Henry.
Syracuse’s Pablo Reyes appeared to lose control of his bat on a swing. The bat hit Henry in the head and the catcher fell back immediately. Medical staff rushed to Henry’s aid. He was put onto a stretcher and taken off of the field.

Buffalo shared on X (formerly Twitter) that the game had been called and that Henry was being taken to a hospital.
